John Jonah Jameson was an American editorialist and publisher of the 20th century. Jameson held vast influence as the publisher of the The Daily Bugle, and used his sway over his paper's readership to lead a smear campaign against the superhero Spider-Man.

J. Jonah Jameson argues with Sites - Sgt

Jameson criticises C. Thomas Sites for his pacifistic stance during the Second World War.

Jameson argued with C. Thomas Sites about the latter's invitation to the front lines by Corporal Dum Dum Dugan. Jameson could not comprehend why the pacifistic Sites would wish to see the fighting with his own eyes. Jameson had no problem with Sites not being in his presence for some time and happily handed out the required expenses for Sites. Sites reminded the publisher of his importance to The Bugle's readers as he left. Sites made sure to say goodbye to the rookie reporter Frederick Foswell before he left.[1] (COMIC: Sgt. Fury Vol 1 110)

Personality[]

It's part of the game. You put your career on the line every day, every time you publish a newspaper. If you don't believe in yourself... you're finished! If you want the truth... J.J.J.'s one of the more easy-going print people. Believe me - - He is a sweetheart.

Notes[]

  • Jameson was created by American comic book writer Stan Lee and artist Steve Ditko.
  • Adam Rowe has argued that Jameson was inspired by and created as a rebuttal to Fredric Wertham.[3]
