It Came From The Pool is a short film directed, written, and starring Logan Alexander, about a boy under siege from a monster in a Brazilian apartment building.

It was released on April 23rd, 2018.

Synopsis[]

Logan Alexander, while on vacation in Brazil, attempts to come up with new concepts and potential films, but finds his well of creativity has run dry.

Looking outside, Logan notices that the weather is conducive to swimming, and decides to do so. While on his way outside, he switches a radio from a news station to a rock station, ignoring reports of a "trash monster" said to be on the loose.

While wading in the pool, unbeknownst to him, he is being watched by a concealed figure with a clawed arm.

The next day, Logan cleans the pool, as he'd said to himself yesterday. After finishing his task, he is shocked to find a trail of water leading back inside the house. He follows it around various corners, until the trail stops, and the monster reveals itself.

He flees the monster, which gives chase, until it corners him outside. Lashing out, he bashes it with a stick, which knocks it into the pool. The monster begins to scream and howl in pain and terror, as it desperately attempts to claw its way back out, as the cleaning products Logan had used shortly before destroyed it, ending its threat forever.

On April 5th, 2018, Jacob Sherwood shared an image of Logan filming with a video camera from their apartment window, with the message, "What's he doing?"[1]

On April 13th, Sherwood posted on his twitter account an image of the claw prop and a message informing his followers that the film would be edited on the computer, as opposed to Logan's previous films, which had all been edited in camera.[2]

Notes[]

  • The description of the video credits "?" as the Monster; much like the opening credits of "Frankenstein", and the end credits of "From Russia With Love" choice to obscure the actors playing the parts of the Monster and Ernst Stavro Blofeld respectively.
  • The film borrows music from "The Creature From The Black Lagoon", of which Logan is a big fan, and has taken a great deal of influence from.
