Captain Benjamin Maxwell was a human Starfleet officer in the Star Trek Multiverse.
He often served in the Cardassian Conflict, and just as often lost his wife and children to the Cardassians in the Setik III Massacre. Miles O'Brien would comment that he took his loss remarkably well, unaware of the fact that this hurt him severely.
Decades later, his grudge with the Cardassians would lead him to seek a preemptive strike against them, which brought him into conflict with Jean-Luc Picard.
Researchers have noted his resemblance to Samuel Norton, and certain variants of Leland Owlsley. Whether or not this is significant is undetermined.
