Professor Charles Xavier was an American mutant rights advocate of the 20th century, known for founding the X-Men.
Biography[]
Youth[]
Xavier was born to parents who worked on the first atomic bomb test.[2] His father, Dr. Brian Xavier, was killed during the 1945 Trinity nuclear test in Alamogordo, New Mexico.
Military Service[]
Xavier and Marko served together during the Korean War. They were on the same battlefield when Marko decided to desert under enemy fire and fled into a nearby cave. When Xavier ran into the cave to save his stepbrother from a court-martial, he recognised the surroundings as being the Lost Temple of Cyttorak. He was powerless to prevent Marko from activating the power of a gem and becoming a human juggernaut.[3] He was then forced to flee the cavern when Communist shelling triggered a cave-in.[4]
Encounter with Lucifer[]
Xavier would long dwell on the loss of his ability to walk,[5] and would later refer to it as a childhood accident.[2]

- Intelligence: Xavier possessed a genius-level intellect.
Mutant Abilities[]
- Telepathy: Xavier was a powerful telepath, and used his mental abilities to various ends.
Skills[]
- Pilotry: Xavier was a gifted enough pilot that he was able to pilot a specially constructed plane at the speed of sound, using only his thought impulses, from the Xavier School for Gifted Youngsters all the way to Cape Citadel.[8]
